Having worked as an illustrator for many years it wasn’t long into my pottery journey before these two worlds began to merge. The joy of creating artwork combining both beauty & practical function has always felt particularly fulfilling.

My ceramic work focuses on traditional wheel thrown forms which are brought to life with intricate hand illustrated decoration. I throw using stoneware, earthenware, or porcelain, working into the clay using an array of decorative materials and techniques including coloured slips, ceramic pencils, oxides, glazes, paper cut outs, wax resist, and sgraffito. Themes are centred around a joyous appreciation for the natural world and reflect my love of traditional folk art and historical craft. Based in rural Kent I work from my garden studio, taking seasonal inspiration from the native plants and wildlife surrounding me. All pieces are crafted and decorated by hand meaning no two are ever exactly the same.

I predominantly sell my work at ceramic specific shows and events so please check my upcoming shows page to see where I am next exhibiting!
